Dr. Gaurav Bhatiani is a distinguished expert in energy, environment, and sustainable development, with extensive experience in policy advisory, strategy development, and project implementation across multiple sectors. He has held senior leadership positions in global organizations, driving impactful solutions in clean energy, climate resilience, and sustainable infrastructure across South Asia.
Dr. Bhatiani has an extensive track record of managing large and interdisciplinary teams across energy, water and infrastructure sectors. His expertise includes energy policy, reform, and regulation; clean energy transitions – renewables, energy efficiency, and electric vehicles; infrastructure, finance, and investment analysis and climate change, circular economy, and resource efficiency issues. He has worked on a large number of research and advisory assignments, advising governments, public utilities, and regulatory bodies on policy, regulation, and reform strategies. He has also worked in large private companies, leading investment analysis and financing multi-billion-dollar energy and infrastructure projects.
Dr. Bhatiani is an Adjunct Professor at the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, and an expert faculty member at other leading universities. He has led large capacity-building efforts for utilities and infrastructure companies.
He is an accomplished author having contributed to over 100 articles, reports, papers, and books and was awarded the Career Author Award for his work.
Dr. Bhatiani has also served various industry bodies such as the CII’s National Power Committee and Renewable Energy Council and is a featured speaker at conferences and seminars.
Dr. Bhatiani holds a Ph.D. with a specialization in energy economics and regulation from the University of Delhi. He was awarded the Gold Medal for securing top rank in the master’s program in business and economics. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (Roorkee).
