At The Habitat Emprise (THE), sustainability is more than just a professional commitment — it’s a personal mission to empower people and protect the planet. Beyond designing policy frameworks and green infrastructure, our team actively engages in volunteer initiatives that promote community-driven change, youth leadership, and environmental justice.
This blog chronicles our volunteer engagements, collaborations with like-minded organizations, and our efforts to build awareness and capacity around sustainable development in the built environment.
Youth Engagement for Climate Action
Partnering with the POP Movement and Prem Jain Memorial Trust
As part of our ongoing commitment to youth-led sustainability, THE has partnered with the POP (Protect Our Planet) Movement, founded by Dr. R K Pachauri and Dr. Ash Pachauri, and the Prem Jain Memorial Trust to nurture young climate leaders. Through these partnerships:
- We have conducted interactive workshops and design-thinking sessions on energy-efficient architecture and climate-resilient housing.
- We actively support POP’s call for intergenerational collaboration, helping young people understand how their choices and careers can decarbonize the construction sector.
Mentoring future professionals in schools and colleges
Act Now: Inspiring Built Environment Leaders: THE has contributed to ACT Now’s climate education initiatives, a global platform aimed at fostering climate literacy among school students. As knowledge partners:
- We developed curriculum modules linking the built environment to SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).
- Volunteers from THE hosted sessions on low-carbon building materials, cool roofs, and urban heat resilience for middle and high school learners.
